Oklahoma Mom kills intruder

Let this be a good lesson to all the criminals out there. It also shows how far parents will go to protect their children. Sarah McKinley,an 18 year old mother was home with her infant son on December 31st. Her husband had just died of cancer on Christmas day. She called 911 and asked the operator if it was okay to kill the intruders who were going from door to door at her home trying to get inside. Her cal to 911 lasted 21 minutes. McKinley kept her 3 month old son quiet by giving him a bottle and then armed herself with a shotgun and barricaded the front door with a sofa.

She asked the dispatcher for permission to shoot.

"I can't tell you that you can do that, but you do what you have to do to protect your baby," the dispatcher told her, according to ABC News.

24 year old Justin Martin kicked her way through the door and was armed with a 12 inch knife.

When police arrived they found Martin shot dead and slumped over that sofa.

His accomplice Dustin Stewart, 29, surrendered to police.

"it was either going to be him or my son," McKinley said." And it wasn't going to be my son."

Police say the shooting was justified.

“The Oklahoma laws are clear on the home and the right to your home are absolute," Blanchard Police Detective Dan Huff stated.
