Copyright infringement from your IP VIRUS

Subject:Copyright infringement from your IP VIRUS

Sent from: RIAA MyraTokkesdal@riaa.com

This is a warning about an email circulating that has an attached zip file named "Internet traffic report." The spammer expects that you will be shaken or concerned by the nature of this letter and open it. Do not. It contains viruses that will destroy your computer and it's files. This was sent out to a very long email list. This is a spoofed email from somebody who claims to be from the RIAA! It's quite a funny letter, but the trojan in the zip file isn't funny.

  4. Thanks for the info, I got one of those today.
It was suspicious because I live in Finland and I think that this kind of notification would come from local authorities and not from US based organisation.
    Whew.

  5. I received the same email as well, but this I got while cleaning my Spam box. It goes like this:

Obviously, it's a scam. It's sent to about 16 people at the same time when a formal email should be directly addressed to the intended recipient. It's said to be coming from a JaycobMoronta@riaa.com.

I'd appreciate to get more info on this please?
