Important Updates about Gregory Branson Trent

The Bogus Barrister believes that this incidence with Gregory Branson Trent who has been stealing the works of published authors and passing them off as his own is nothing more than a con artist rather than somebody who really wanted to be a writer. The Barrister first heard about this man from Rev. Sinthyia who told us that this man stole her news articles from Miami Paranormal's website and also her news articles from her Examiner News columns. Branson Trent removed the last two sentances from an article about Lady Gaga's interest in paranormal activity. Those sentances make a personal statement about the real author and Gregory Branson Trent was still passing off these works as his own so he couldn't out himself. Well, he has been outted in a big way. Author Carl Neil tipped us off about Gregory Branson Trent having been busted for stealing the published works of Pagan author Scott Cunningham as well as his own works. This con artist had the audacity to take those works and publish them in book format as his own. What this guy did goes way past stealing website content. You can see Carl's blog about it here.

Amazon has since suspended book sales by Mr. Trent. All of his blogs and his official website has also been deleted. , . In fact, it looks like his Google account has been completely shut down. . So far, his books are still for sale on Barnes and Noble's website. I'm sure they won't be up there for long.

Even his page at has been deleted. But we think he forgot about his Twitter page! According to his Flickr page, Trent describes himself and the long list of book he published.

15 years folks. That's how long he was running this scam. He has over 40 books in print!

If anybody has copies of any of these books, please get in touch with us or Carl Neil. We would like to check out the content so that we can identity other authors who have been victims of this internet huckster. To our elation, we discovered that PublishsAmerica (one of our favorite subjects here on this blog) have published several of this man's books! Now the publisher's have a liablity in this and it pleases us to no end that the brunt of this scandal may fall aquarely on the block heads of PublishAmerica, who are already in very serious trouble after getting slapped with a class action lawsuit.

It looks like Gregory Branson Trent knows the jig is up and is running. That will not stop prosecution. And this could get really ugly when the publishers get involved. it's just incredible that he thought that he could get away with this.

Our guess is, he will just show turn up again, running this scam scam, but using a different name. However, gathering these authors and prosecuting him would prevent this.

This appears to be a book review by "Witchvox" pertaining to the book in which this scammer was busted for stealing the works of Scott Cunningham and Carl Neil.
