PublishAmerica Employees creating fictious Facebook profiles

Ever hear of a person with the surname PublishAmerica? If you go to Facebook you will find some. We discovered at least two of the bogus profiles. Facebook does not allow fake profiles and so we have archived this as proof that they were there because these will be deleted soon. These profiles were created for the sole purpose of promoting this publisher. Seems pretty shady to me why these employees simply couldn't use their own last names to promote them. Why aren't these employees using their real names???

Here is "Miranda PublishAmerica" click here to view the profile.

And here is "Emily PublishAmerica". Click here to check out the profile. Have a look under "Favorite Athletes" Blue Blue Sea" is the name of Miranda Prather *AHEM* Miranda PublishAmerica's horse!

Last but not least is "Gail PublishAmerica!" click here to view her profile.

  1. There is also Gail PublishAmerica http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002385873118&sk=wall
She is in charge of royalties and the HR person. She also goes to Book Expos and book fairs as a PA Representative. Her last name is Augustine and she knows darn well that PA is a scam.

  2. I have a question about this PublishAmerica. When you sign with them these contracts make no mention of paying taxes and what theirs or the author's obligations are. Does publish america send out tax statments to their authors every year? Even if they claim that there have been no sales they still have to report it and document it for each and every author. Wouldn't they?

  5. There is a story in the news today about Ellen DeGeneres who was hired as the spokesperson for Jc Penney. That decision was criticized by a group called the One Million Mom project. What this group is doing reminded me of PA.

"It's unclear whether the One Million Mom project actually lives up to its name in numbers. At least one blogger has infiltrated the organization as a fake member. Like other marginal groups, the organization thrives on controversy, linking its name to major companies and stars for attention. "

Sound familiar? Let's see J.K Rowling, Oprah, Tom Hanks, President Obama, Steven King. Need I say more?
